3. The Live Earthquake Tracker

The Live Earthquake Tracker is an original work created by Volcoholics. The interface, layout, code, visual design, panel structure and user experience are protected by copyright. The underlying earthquake data is sourced from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and is in the public domain — our presentation and implementation of that data is not.

You are welcome to use the tracker for personal monitoring, research and general interest. You may not replicate, adapt or redistribute the tracker interface or code without permission.

It must not be used as a substitute for official emergency alerts, evacuation orders or guidance from authorised civil protection, emergency management or scientific agencies.

In particular:

  • Earthquake data is sourced from USGS public feeds and may be delayed, incomplete or subject to revision. Do not rely on this site as an early warning system.
  • Volcano information reflects our understanding at the time of writing and may not reflect the current status of any volcanic system. Always refer to the relevant national monitoring agency for official eruption alerts.
  • Storm, aurora and other hazard information is provided for general interest only.
  • We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate but cannot guarantee that all data is current, complete or free from error.
